Animal Action & Education.
The Animal Action & Education project focuses primarily on promoting animal welfare through education. The project attempts to prevent the need for animal rescue by implementing an education program within the community, beginning in schools, with a purpose to instill in children a perspective of compassion as well as essential critical thinking skills.
The program will encourage peaceful living between the locals and animals, preventing conflict, animal abuse and unnecessary fears.
Work experience for our sponsored children and young adults makes up a major component of this project. Work experience is hard to find and would benefit our sponsored children by transitioning them from school to work and improve their maturity, confidence and self-resilience while teaching them new skills.
In Tanzania dogs are not seen the same way as in Australia. This is simply due to several factors such as lack of education, fear and learnt beliefs but of course because many live in poverty. It is understandable that they need to find their own source of food and healthcare before attending to an animal's needs.
Educating people to gain a new understanding of animals, in particular by increasing community awareness with regards to animal rights, so that all may live in harmony together is the ultimate purpose.
