Team Vista have returned from our most recent trip to Moshi, Tanzania. While we were there we purchased the existing school building, renovated it and built on a second classroom. We all got our hands dirty and painted inside and out of the school with the children's help and our talented friend Sibo painted a beautiful mural on the front. The roof was replaced and a water tank was purchased and installed and a new kitchen area was built. The afternoon children are also receiving 2 meals a day with a new mix of maize and vegetables (makende) being served at lunchtime.
We looked at many plots of land to buy however none were suitable or financially viable. We were able to get authorisation from all parents and guardians of the children to get them all full health checks, so that we can start attending to any problems immediately. Two new teachers’ aides were hired and we also hired an English speaking teacher, Janette for the new second class.
Overall it was a busy month and a half and we are really happy with the progress that we made. We would like to thank all of our supporters and the community of Kaloleni who got behind us and helped us achieve so much.
Kilimanjaro Kids With Futures Dinners

Many thanks to all those who attended & contributed to making our fundraising dinner in Adelaide on the 20th of Feb such a success. Channel 9's Brenton Ragless MC'd the night and Dada Nii & the Damushi Ensemble entertained everyone with their African drumming & harmonies. It was a fun filled night full of raffles, auctions and lots of dancing. So far over $5400 has been raised! Stay tuned for more Adelaide events coming soon!
Team Vista's dinner in Sydney at the Epping Club, sponsored by Command Auto Group on the 5th of March was also a huge success! A huge $25,000 was raised and we are overwhelmed by the support we received. The legendary Peter Combe performed his classics, and international ruby star David Campese was the guest speaker. Thank you to all who attended and those who assisted in making the night so great! We look forward to sharing future events with you and keeping you updated on how the money is being used and our progress as we head to Tanzania in March this year.
